VCAD is seeking a Student Wellbeing officer to join our London campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct wellbeing meetings with the students in order to discuss their mental health problems
  • Conduct disability discussion meetings with the students in order to discuss their problems and reasonable adjustments
  • Analysing and identifying the disability data and sharing a report with the Wellbeing Manager
  • Developing and implementing programs and initiatives to support student mental health and wellbeing
  • Working closely with academic departments and other campus organizations to promote student engagement and involvement in campus life
  • Providing guidance, advice, and information related to student wellbeing and pastoral care is essential, as is offering support to students experiencing emotional or practical difficulties affecting their learning
  • Managing a caseload of student well-being matters is part of the job, and requires reviewing support needs and logging student outcomes, as well as communicating with tutors and other central services
  • Helping the Wellbeing Manager to deliver workshops, webinars and awareness-raising events
  • Collaborating and communicating with other teams to establish, maintain, and develop productive relationships with colleagues across the University to support service delivery and issue resolution
  • Planning and organising own workload
  • Contributing to longer-term plans/programmes

Requirements:

  • A bachelor`s degree or equivalent qualification in Psychology or related subjects A willingness to train, in Mental Health First Aid and ASIST Excellent communication skills Good problem-solving skills Works collaboratively with others Identifies and implements continuous improvement Sensitivity and empathy with students, colleagues and staff Able to deal with confidential matters, highly sensitive data and act with discretion
